Walk On

O do give freely of your freedom now
And freely take these boots to town

Polish them off American style
See them glisten like a smile

As we walk together on gilded stilts
Proud as he who knows no guilt.

Let the rest stumble on crutches of belief
While we drop crumbs at their knees.

And those who speak of a fall
Have lost their sense of awe.

Mightier than the lion that roars
Compare us to others no more

History is ours to fashion
As we mete out the rations.

The skies, the waters, the jungle too
Have become our very own zoo.

The barn it shall o’er reach the globe
The hyena cackles cause he knows.

The pig he lies down with the swan
In this great land, all is one.

And should you oppose us still
With thumbs and tongues that will

Dreaming of some evolutionary course
Forever will you stay on all fours.

The lump sum of years of progress;
O what could be grander than this?
